I wish you the best of luck, Jambon. I hope it lasts and your wife begins sliding away from the borg rather than falling right back in. Leaving the borg is like climbing out of a steep pit; sometimes one climbs a few yards and slips back several feet, sometimes one seems to slide all the way back to the bottom, but your wife has your daughter's words implanted in her brain now. She may "forget" them later for a time but they'll still be there. There is ALWAYS hope. There can always be new beginnings. Hang in there, bro.

New Light on Fat people
by RR inglutton...fails to show love for jehovah.
is food a big thing in his life?
if in the presence of others, does he selfishly ignore their needs and take more than his fair share?

The great crowd! Gathered from where? By Whom?
by wannabe inat last count, there are some eight billion people living on our earth at this present moment in time.
which brings me to the point i. wish to make about a great unnumbered crowd surviving the great tribulation, after armageddon is fought.. .
but it would take another 4000 years to do that.

Revelation 19:1 is one of the most-ignored scriptures in Dub-land.

The effect of this religion on my children & the action I had to take - Part II
by jambon1 ini posted this part of the story earlier this week.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/experiences/191112/1/the-effect-of-this-religion-on-my-children-the-action-i-had-to-take-part-i.
so we are at the point where my daughter has been taking in my lifestyle for 4 years since she i left the truth when she was just 4 years old.
my son who is a couple of years younger thankfully seems to be immune to most of the indoctrination from the jws.

When you're finished this, you have GOT TO post this online at either freeminds, jwfacts, or both + somewhere else. My heart is breaking for your kids, bro! Save them!

Aposta-Deafies
by White Dove inso far, there are yiz, asilentone, and me.
who else is d/deaf here?
had to make my own thread as i was in serious danger of hi-jacking asilentone's thread about potato salad.
-
Mad Sweeney
Not to derail the thread but the % of deafies on welfare depends on both one's definition of welfare and of deafies.
There's Deaf and there's deaf.
There's the person who doesn't work at all and gets free food and medical care, plus SSI and/or SSDI and there's the person who works but doesn't make much and uses some amount of food stamps. Are both these people "on welfare" or just the one with the full ride?
Anyway, I'm not deaf but have loved ones who are. It is my hope that someday they'll be on here. PM me if you might be willing to meet on VP (or Skype); I think they're willing to talk to other deaf.

guys, when you were JW's did you feel sorry for the subjugated sisters?
by highdose inin my cong i could name more than half the brothers who seemed to revel in squashing the sisters back into the door mat where they belonged.
nothing personaly irrated me more than being treated like a lower form of life simply because i didn't have a penis!.
but i never saw any brothers make a stand, or try to treat the sisters better.

By the way, there was a brief article in a WT a year or two ago about sisters who interpret in sign languages now needing to wear a head covering (after decades of NOT needing to).
I would think that would tick some sisters off. It annoyed me because the reasoning was similar to that of the "don't hug your spouse during prayer" rationale: that not wearing a goofy hat while signing might stumble someone.

As Witnesses we were Trained to be Obedient - Rather than Show Love
by flipper ini can list many examples of this : probably the most glaring thing i saw proving this in 1982 was when an 83 year old sister died of a heart attack on the stage at an assembly part where she gave her experience then sat down next to me and died right on my shoulder on the stage.
i motioned to a brother sitting near me on the stage to help me carry her off the stage - which we did - and the brother and i behind the curtain tried administering cpr.
a registered nurse ran behind the curtain from the audience also - but the annoying thing is the elder giving the talk just kept right on talking to the 3,000 in the audience with no reference to what had just happened !

Obedience is what it is ALL about, Flipper. The only reason for the mind control is for behavior control.

Something is up, just got invited back
by Brocephus inokay, i have read some posts about new efforts to "reach out" something is up.
my elder dad who entered a "cease fire" with me about a decade ago on the topic of religion reached out for the first time since.
he specifically invited me to the kh and bragged about the memorial attendance, the end is surley near....etc.. etc.... .

I can see them wishing to do that, highdose, but I can't figure out a way they can pull it off. How can they write off 1914 without losing their special appointment a few years later?

When are anointed who die before Armageddon resurrected as per the Watchtower?
by ThomasCovenant inam i correct in thinking that 'the remnant' and previous anointed who die are instantly resurrected as spirit creatures?.
any quotes from wt literature are appreciated.. thanks.

I believe the old light is still in effect. First resurrection began around 1918 and has continued down to our day.

Why the Memorial partaker numbers have gone up...
by undercover in...well, as was explained to me anyway.. since countries that were previously under ban are now able to report, this has resulted in the partaker numbers to go up.. .
.
um, yeah... .

Elders already meet with new partakers to determine whether they should be counted or not. I know of an instance of this personally. If the person gives a fair accounting of his/her calling with a level head and a humble demeanor, they count him/her.
